Amy Mangan is an essayist and novelist whose work has been described as "Anna Quindlen meets Erma Bombeck." Through her wry, yet poignant, style, Amy captures beauty, joy, irony, and humor from everyday life.

Amy's work has appeared in national magazines including Southern Living and Better Homes & Gardens' Creative Home magazines. Editors of these publications praised Amy for her pitch-perfect features as well as before-deadline submissions.

In addition to writing for national magazines, Amy is a popular monthly columnist for Ocala Style magazine, a regional lifestyle publication in Florida. She serves as the magazine's assistant editor and as editor of the annual special issue publication Ocala Style Home & Garden Idea Book.

Amy is working on her first novel, The History Lesson, which weaves the story of a young history professor coming to terms with several issues in her life, including a nasty and growing anonymous extortionist. The novel subtly deals with the themes of facing one's own personal history while trying to create another.

Amy is also developing her first non-fiction work, Paint Chip Reverie, a collection
of essays and observations inspired by—you guessed it—a paint chip. In her typical clever way, Amy artfully connects the beauty of a paint color wheel to elements
of life.

Amy holds a bachelor of arts in communication and masters of art in history. When not writing, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter, and the resident spoiled dog.

Amy's goal is to find a national syndication as home for her inspirational column Real Life Reverie, publish The History Lesson, and essay collections, elevate a love of home, garden, and life to larger audiences (do I hear HGTV anyone?), and find a good spot by the ocean to write a little bit more.
